It's a peculiar place, in that you can't do all your grocery shopping there, but then most of what they have is hard to find elsewhere - kind of a destination store. And the prices are pretty good for what you're getting.

I have to say, what I miss most being in England is Costco. OK, that's not true, I miss American grocery stores in general, particularly those in the Bay Area - a Whole Foods would be nice (they've got *one* in London but it mostly focuses on takeaway and salad bar) or even more amazing would be some place like Draeger's, Bianchini's, or the Berkeley Bowl - can't even imagine.

Here everything is wrapped up in plastic, and fresh vegetables will often be brown and rotting in the plastic before their official sell-by date.

I miss living in Menlo Park where you had Draeger's, TJ's, and that 24-hour giant Safeway all within a couple blocks of each other, and were within easy reach of Costco, Webb's ranch, Bianchini's, farmer's markets, Schaub's, etc. Damn. =)Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03212536616743821609noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1721810426611702278.post-63884598466860229092007-12-11T17:14:00.000-05:002007-12-11T17:14:00.000-05:00I LOVE LOVE LOVER TJs...best store EVER...I LOVE LOVE LOVER TJs...best store EVER...Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05468503862996596333noreply@blogger.com
